The basics:

Your prostate is a small gland located below the bladder in the male body. It is part of your reproductive system and makes the fluid that sperm travel in.

The issue:

Prostate cancer (PC) begins when cells in the prostate grow out of control and can spread to other parts of the body. As the cancer grows, tumors can form and cause symptoms. You might not always feel symptoms as the cancer begins to grow, but if it continues to spread, you could experience discomfort like:

Difficulty Urinatingdifficulty urinating
Blood in urine
or semen
blood in urine semen
Persistent pain in the back, hips, or pelvispersistent-pain
Erectile dysfunctionerectile-dysfunction

If you have any of these symptoms, Talk That Talk with your doctor. You’ll need further testing to confirm if it’s PC.

Bottom line: We can be proactive about prostate cancer through early screenings.
